III. Requirements
To become a Weblio tutor, you need to meet the initial requirements below:Headset - must have a noise cancelling feature & external microphone PC type - laptop or desktop only Teaching Environment - plain white background, good lighting, and no unnecessary background noises Internet - at least 5 MBPS download speed & ping of not more than 30 ms Schedule - available during our peak hours from 8:00am-5:00pm PST Mondays-Fridays, but can teach 24/7 Philippine TIN - must have a Philippine TIN
Yes, you must have a registered TIN here in the Philippines.
Prior experience in teaching English online is preferred, but not required.
IV. Tutorial Fee
Weblio sends tutors’ fees through either one of the following: BDO savings, BPI savings, BDO payroll (Weblio will assist). Take note that BPI Family Savings is not allowed.
You may apply for a BDO Account under us and request an endorsement letter after your training so you can open an account for free.
Yes, provided that it is a savings account.
Weblio sends tutors’ fees every 20th of the following month. Cut off is at the end of each month.

No, since Weblio tutors are all considered independent contractors.
Yes, Weblio is legally bound to withhold 10% from your monthly tutor fee. The amount is remitted to BIR monthly.
Weblio will not file your taxes, but you may request for a BIR 2307 from us so you can file your taxes yourself.
No, as mandated by the law, Weblio Philippines Inc., will have to deduct the withholding tax while tutors will have to file for their taxes on their own.
Yes, you can. As an independent contractor, you can stop teaching anytime you want to as long as you inform us about your resignation.
V. About the Lessons
Tutors will mostly teach Japanese customers.
The duration of our lessons is no longer limited to 25 minutes. It will now vary as follows: 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, and 55 minutes.
Your tutor fee is computed based on the number of your completed lessons in a month multiplied by your rate per lesson. Please take note that necessary deductions will apply.
Weblio has a wide selection of teaching materials for you.
No, just make sure not to be inactive for 2 consecutive months; otherwise, we will delete your profile from the site.

There is no minimum hours required to teach in Weblio but we’d highly appreciate if you can regularly open your schedule.
