As a Tutor Recruitment Manager, under the Eikaiwa Division, you will lead the end-to-end process of recruiting qualified home-based tutors who will help expand mankind’s possibilities through quality education. In this key leadership role, you will oversee the entire recruitment and onboarding process, manage the recruitment team, and ensure the selection of high-quality tutors aligned with our standards. You will also design and implement effective strategies to attract, evaluate, and equip new tutors through comprehensive training programs that prepare them to deliver engaging and satisfying lessons. Your leadership will be crucial in maintaining recruitment excellence, supporting our mission, and sustaining a strong and consistent pipeline of talent.

Job Requirements

What you’ll need:

  • Must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Resources, Psychology, Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Advanced studies or certifications in HR/recruitment is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in recruitment, with at least 1-2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Experience in recruitment, training, customer service, or ESL tutoring is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent data management and analysis skills.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office & G Suite.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively with teams and manage cross-functional initiatives.
  • Adaptable to new challenges or changes in the recruitment landscape.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Amenable to work on a 9:00-18:00 default schedule and hybrid set up.
  • Open to occasional weekend work (Saturday and/or Sunday), as needed.

Work Scope

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Lead the planning and execution of recruitment initiatives that align with department goals and the company’s mission.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve recruitment processes and meet the growing demand for home-based tutors.
  • Drive innovation by proposing and executing new initiatives aimed at enhancing recruitment quality and efficiency.

    Recruitment Oversight:

  • Supervise the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring smooth candidate assessment, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Oversee the evaluation of applications, particularly focusing on PC specifications and internet requirements for home-based tutors.
  • Manage the recruitment team in conducting online interviews, demos, and assessments of potential tutors.

    Training and Development:

  • Design and supervise the implementation of training programs for accepted applicants to ensure they are well-prepared to deliver high-quality lessons.
  • Oversee the execution of workshops and training sessions to equip tutors with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of trainees during demo sessions, providing feedback to ensure teaching standards are met.

    Onboarding and Administration:

  • Ensure the efficient onboarding of new tutors, including the preparation of necessary documentation for payroll and release.
  • Supervise the registration of passed applicants in the database and ensure records are up-to-date and accurate.

    Team Management and Performance Monitoring:

  • Lead the recruitment team, ensuring that daily KPIs are updated, monitored, and met.
  • Conduct regular reviews and provide mentorship to recruitment staff to ensure the team remains motivated and aligned with departmental goals.

    Collaboration and Support:

  • Act as a point of escalation for inquiries regarding the recruitment process, providing support to both applicants and the recruitment team.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and support corporate or special lessons, if required.

    General Responsibilities:

  • Research and gather data to continuously improve recruitment strategies.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by upper management to support the overall mission of the company.
