Weblio Philippines conducts first career talk

February 23, 2017 – With the theme: “Teaching in the Digital Age”, Weblio Philippines kicked off its pilot career event at St. Bernadette College of Alabang.

HR and Business Development staff Karen Santos delivered a speech that mainly focused on the rise of online jobs and its advantages, specifically ESL teaching. After the talk, students expressed their opinion, and readily exchanged thoughts with the resource speaker.

Event facilitators Blessie Zablan and Lane Basa opened the workshop with an instructional video on setting up the suitable environment for an online job interview. Moreover, helpful tips on answering the most common interview questions were discussed. Sample interview responses were also provided later on.

A total of 25 third year and graduating college students from Education and Business departments participated in the said event. As part of its corporate social responsibility, Weblio Philippines pioneered this career-related program to re-introduce English as a Second Language industry, and equip forthcoming graduates with the know-how of applying for an online job.
